Since the long awaited release of WordPress 2.8, it has been discovered that there are two fatal bugs! These bugs are related to the installer and has been erasing files and folders when installing. Patches have been done, but WordPress 2.8.1 won't be released until the end of June. WordPress developers have always released too early and 2.8 is no exception.

Do you get the problem of an image popup or a menu dropdown that goes behind a video or flash component you have on your Semiologic website? Well, you can fix this. Don't comment here about images or dropdown's going behind your Google Adsense ad, because it is a breach of their TOS agreement for an image to go over or behind the ad. To fix it with an Adsense ad, is to simply move the ad.

WordPress/Semiologic are really great programs, but because they are open source, they have security vulnerabilities. Hackers will take advantage of these vulnerabilities to exploit your site and destroy everything!
The question is not, will you be hacked, but, when will I be hacked! If you haven't secured your site, then you will be hacked, it is just a matter of time. Hackers use many methods to break into your site and these areas need to be secured. Having security on your site is imperative. Secure it or lose it!

I am constantly being asked by Semiologic customers, about which membership software I would recommend.
To recommend a membership program is not an easy task, as each one does something more or less than the others. Plus, finding one that plays well with WordPress and Semiologic is another consideration. There are really only two that are any good, in my opinion, anyway.

I am constantly amazed at how many WordPress and Semiologic users fail to protect their directories, in particular, their plugins directory. These directories are vulnerable to hackers doing some serious damage to your site. If you look at a site's wp-content/plugins directory through your browser, more times than not, you will see their complete list of plugins! This is a security issue and needs to be quickly fixed.

We have received a lot of complaints from members about their hosting companies having difficulties with Semiologic and/or just providing terrible services. To this end, Joe and I, decided to implement a server that can handle Semiologic with ease.

It is always a hassle to find a third-party plugin that works nicely with Semiologic Pro and Semiologic Reloaded. To save you time, we have listed the plugins that we have used or others have recommended, that work without too many issues. If the plugin you are looking for is not listed, then there is a good chance that it does not play with others.

The latest release of Semiologic Reloaded V6 is the alpha version. This site is currently using the alpha version.
The latest version seems to be only CSS tweaks and the addition of selecting a different font for the site. The only issue I see with it, is that there is no way to change the font sizes when choosing a global font, unless of course, you go into the style.css and manually do it. The default sizes for the fonts need to be changed, because they are too big and this also needs to be done through the style.css.
